History of Nampally Exhibition (Numaish)

The Nampally Exhibition began in 1938 during the reign of Mir Osman Ali Khan, the last Nizam of Hyderabad. Initially named the All India Industrial Exhibition, it was started by Osmania University graduates to promote locally made products.

In 2009, the exhibition was officially renamed Numaish, an Urdu word meaning “exhibition.” Over the decades, it has grown into a globally recognised fair with participation from traders across India and countries such as Iran, Turkey, and Bangladesh.
