A Legacy That Began in 1938

From humble beginnings to present-day impact.

It all began back in 1938. A group of forward-thinking citizens launched the event to give local industries a boost after independence. That first exhibition planted the seed for what's now a huge part of Hyderabad's calendar.

The driving force was the newly formed Exhibition Society Hyderabad, with a dedicated leader named Sri Shankerji at the helm as its first Honorary Secretary. They believed that a grand public event could be a powerful engine for the city's progress.

Think of it as a startup incubator and a national trade fair rolled into one! The main goal was to spur on Hyderabad's industrial development by creating a major public exhibition in Hyderabad where artisans and small factories could show their work to a massive audience.

Its impact goes far beyond shopping and fun. For generations, it's been a place where the whole city comes together, making it a true cultural institution for Hyderabad. The funds it raises have also opened doors to education for thousands of students, leaving a lasting legacy on the community.

While we're proud of our history, the exhibition is very much alive today! Visitors can look forward to the same vibrant energy—a bustling marketplace from across India, delicious food, and lively entertainment—all continuing the tradition that started over eight decades ago.

It's held at its longtime home in Nampally. Visitors can book their tickets online and find all practical details for the current edition, such as ticket prices and opening hours, in the official Book Your Ticket Online section on our booking page.
